GIC Appoints New Group CIO

Bryan Yeo Named in Role

Bryan Yeo takes over as Group CIO at sovereign wealth fund GIC

Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC has appointed Bryan Yeo as Group Chief Investment Officer (CIO). Yeo was previously Deputy Group CIO and Director, Integrated Strategies Group at the fund.

He will succeed Jeffrey Jaensubhakij, who spent almost 30 years with GIC and who took up the Group CIO role in 2017.

Yeo joined the GIC Fixed Income Department as a portfolio manager in 2003 and has held several senior roles at the fund, including Head of Credit Markets, Head of Fixed Income, Americas, based in New York, and Head of Credit Research and Strategy.

He also served as CIO for Public Equities from 2016 to 2024, overseeing capital allocation and portfolio construction for the equities portfolio across global developed and emerging markets. He was appointed as Deputy Group CIO in April 2024.

New Infrastructure CIO

GIC also announced the appointment of Boon Chin Hau as CIO for Infrastructure. He takes over from Ang Eng Seng, who will retire as CIO Infrastructure and be appointed a GIC Advisor.

“I would like to express my gratitude to Jeffrey and Eng Seng, for their commitment to GIC over the decades. Jeffrey was a key architect of the GIC total portfolio and an innovator in investment policies,” Lim Chow Kiat, Chief Executive Officer of GIC, said

“Eng Seng was instrumental in the expansion of private markets across asset classes and geographies, and was a founding leader for the Infrastructure group. We look forward to their continued contributions as GIC Advisors in the days ahead.

“I am confident that the leadership team which we have built over time will bring new perspectives and unique strengths to GIC as we continue to fulfil our purpose of securing Singapore’s financial future,” he said.
