ART Reshuffles Executive Structure

ART has implemented a new executive structure as it passes $300bn in AUM

Australian Retirement Trust (ART) has unveiled a new executive structure at the fund, as it passes $300 billion in assets under management.

The new operating model consists of three lines of business, including Investments, Workplaces and Members.

The Investments line is is headed up by Ian Patrick, Chief Investment Officer at ART, while the Workplaces line is headed up by Steve McKay, who is Interim Chief Commercial Officer.

Finally, Members is headed up by Simonne Burnett, who is Chief Member Experience Officer.

The fund also appointed Kathy Vincent, to the new role of Chief Operating Officer.

Vincent joined ART in December 2023 in the role of Chief of Retirement. In her new role, she will be responsible for ‘product, insurance, transformation, data, technology and service delivery to deliver real time, scalable, digital first services for members at every life stage’, the fund said in a media statement.

The new operating structure is intended to ‘unlock efficiencies and create simplicity across the organisation’, David Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of ART, said.

“Australian Retirement Trust has an impressive legacy of accomplishments, and the time is right to now focus on our future and how we will unlock our potential and support our members to retire well with confidence,” Anderson said.

“I strongly believe Australian Retirement Trust will be the distinctive market leader in retirement if we put our collective focus on becoming world class in four disciplines – strong investment performance, innovative retirement solutions, and excellent member and digital experiences, all underpinned by outstanding governance practices.”

The fund also announced Dave Woodall, Chief Commercial Officer, will leave the organisation later this year, after nine years of service to join another, unnamed organisation.

In addition, Lachlan East, Chief Member Officer, has decided to leave the fund at the end of August after 12 years.

  • Chief People Officer – Anne Browne
  • Chief Enterprise Services Officer – Julie Bingham
  • Chief Financial Officer – Anthony Rose
  • Interim Chief Commercial Officer – Steve McKay
  • Interim Chief Risk Officer – Di Orbell
