The [i3] Equities & Equity Alternatives Forum was held on 25 and 26 February 2020 at the Intercontinental in Double Bay.
Participants discussed how various global transitions, including climate change, the digitisation of society and increasing scale of the domestic superannuation sector, impacts the construction of equity portfolios. Eduard van Gelderen, CIO of Canadian pension fund PSP Investments, provided a keynote on how the Canadian model treats equities and gave glimpse of the future of this model.
In the alternatives program, much attention went to the merits and dangers of trend-following, especially as it is applied in a crisis risk offset framework.
Of course, delegates were also peppered with a fair bit of jellyfish trivia.
